Ways to Improve League Play
Be assured that I am committed to providing the best possible golfing experience for every member. “Ways to Improve League Play” highlights just some of the ways to help make your time spent on the golf course much more enjoyable.
Proper pace of play = 2 hrs. & 15 min.
First and foremost – Be on time.
We all have tee times. If players are arriving late for their tee time, the next ready foursome should tee off.
Tee off with proximity in mind.
We all know that our average drives aren’t 350 yards. If a group is a considerable distance away, feel free to hit. At the same time please be mindful not to hit to early and hit into the group in front of you.
Two practice swings – Not eight.
The name of the game is “ready golf”, and to keep the pace of play, it needs to be played by everyone. While a group is on the green, chose your club and warm up while their finishing up, and hit when the green is clear. Practice “ready golf” when you are waiting on the tees, when laying up to the green and while putting.
Keep Pace.
To keep the pace of play moving, every group must keep up with the group in front of them. If just one or two groups fall behind, it affects every group following and will make it difficult for the latter leagues to even finish play.
Cart Rules.
Sometimes because of wet conditions we have to either keep the golf carts on the path or use the 90 degree rule. The 90 degree rule means that you keep your golf cart on the cart path until you reach the distance of your ball; you then drive over to your ball and then directly back to the cart path. Keep carts at least 30 feet from the green. At all times keep the carts on the cart path around the tees and greens. I have seen someone drive right across a green last year.
Be courteous to other golfers and staff on the golf course.
Thank You, Ed
